My Top 5 Worst Anime Endings

Top 5 Worst Anime Endings
You're watching an anime that has you sucked in, or maybe you're forcing yourself to watch it only because the anime is so painful and you're a masochist. Either way, you want to see the ending, but then you are shot down in flames when you realize that you were pretty much trolled with a bad ending! Well here are my top 5 worst endings:
5. Fullmetal Alchemist
A tale of two brothers fighting through some crazy shit and surviving, sounds like a pretty good anime, right? Well that is correct for the most part.
Don't get me wrong, I still think this is a pretty good anime.
They go through a lot of hardships throughout the 51 episodes as they set out to try bringing back Al's body. And for those who don't know, that's the dude in the big suit of armor.
Things seem to be coming to an end where they uncover more and more secrets regarding the philosopher's stone, but then the shit hits the fan and Al finally kicks the bucket. What does Edward do in his rage? LOL SUICIDE
He sacrifices himself to save his brother, which can be seen as a noble thing. If it had ended there, then it would have been a very dramatic ending that people could appreciate.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOPE
Things go on to show that Edward was brought into another dimension and is trapped there with his father, while Al is back in their home dimension. And in the end they make a promise to themselves that they would meet one day.
So that pretty much means HURP GONNA START ANOTHER ADVENTURE!

The Fullmetal Alchemist is stuck in a dimension where alchemy doesn't exist...the poor bastard.
4. Soul Eater
First off: yes I did watch this all the way and I will admit that I somewhat enjoyed it until the 2nd half where things started to drag on. Although near the end, things begin to build up and you're hit with a pretty cool final fight scene.
The academy has been reduced to rubble, there's civilian casualties, darkness and despair linger in the air, and you've got the main protagonist and the antagonist going all out with some psycho-shit powers that cause even more destruction.
As expected, the protagonist reigns victorious and looks out among the debris and her fallen comrades. Everyone is prepared to face the oncoming struggles and I couldn't help but wonder what they would do on the road to recovery and if the protagonist would close the episode with any final words of encouragement...and then I was hit with the biggest "NO SHIT SHERLOCK" moments...well that's actually an understatement.
What does she do? She says "Everyone has courage in their hearts!" while tapping her flat chest then proceeds to jump off of a fucking cliff and the episode ends there.
I hope that she ended up dying from that fall.

3. D.Gray-man
This is probably the only Shonen Jump anime that I ended up enjoying, granted it's still full of filler episodes that I ended up skipping. So while there may be 103 episodes, I only saw about 80 in total and was still able to keep up just fine.
With that being said, I sat through about 80 episodes enjoying the sight of exorcists fighting off akuma.
I ended up taking a break from this after about 40 episodes, but then resumed watching about a month later.
As expected with all SJ anime: as the protagonists get stronger, so do the enemies. And this is no exception. By the time you're around episode 100, you're pretty much looking at everyone in their "strongest" form, and they have fights with lots of unnecessary explosions (hurr durr Michael Bay).
When the so-called strongest demon is finally destroyed, the damage is already too severe for the exorcists to fully recover from, and there's even some casualties for the side characters.
At this point, I thought "this is gonna take a while to rebuild...". That is not the case, but instead, what do they do? ABANDON THEIR BASE AND MOVE INTO A NEW ONE THAT HAPPENED TO BE STANDING BY AND IS READY TO MOVE INTO!
Not only was that anti-climatic, it's not even the part about the ending that got me mad!
In the credits, you're seeing everyone return to their "normal" lives (they're still fighting akuma) and life just goes on.
In case you haven't figured it out yet: THEY ENDED WHERE THEY STARTED
So I sat through nearly 80 episodes, only to end up discovering they're in a loop!
I understand that the anime was cut short due to the author's illness, but they could have at the very least write up their own ending for some closure.

Hey dude, we're gonna be going at it for a loooooooong while...
2. Oreimo
If you watched all 12 episode of this, you either legitimately enjoyed this anime or you're a fucking masochist, in this case I'm the latter.
Sitting through this dull anime filled with textbook examples of anime cliches was painful enough, and I was hoping for at least a somewhat decent ending. And in episode 12, which is the "first ending", there's news of Kirino traveling to the US for school. This was indeed good news seeing as how the horrid bitch of a protagonist is going to be sent off. I had my hopes up and was saying "SO LOOOOONG BITCH!", but then I find out that she had decided to stay even though it was obvious that would happen...
Now, that ending was bad enough, but oh no my friends, it actually gets worse!
After episode 12, 3 more episodes were released to depict the "true ending". Kirino does end up getting sent to America, which is good. However, the cliches continue with the dull goth girl instead, which is not as bad as seeing Kirino, but is still pretty tedious. Things go on like this until episode 15 where the brother ACTUALLY DECIDES TO TRAVEL TO AMERICA TO BRING HER SISTER BACK. When he does this, I proceeded to yell "YOU FUCKING SACKLESS COCK SUCKER! I HOPE YOUR PLANE CRASHES INTO THE OCEAN!". And then he's actually successful in bringing the devil spawn back to her homeland.
I will say this: I have NEVER EVER in my life yelled at my computer as much as I did when this happened. I spouted a nonstop stream of curses and expletives at my screen wishing death and dismemberment upon Kirino.
So not only was this anime painful to watch, I also ended up getting slapped in the face and kicked in the balls by this anime.

KIRINO, IT'S RAPE TIME!
1. Evangelion
Quite possibly the most overrated anime in the history of anime.
I actually did think this was pretty decent during the fight scenes in the first half, but then it gets into a bunch of pretentious bullshit with a bunch of flashing words and images and more of Shinji acting like a complete pussy.
I have nothing else to really say about this anime except for the ending.
HOLY.FUCKING.SHIT. did this ending piss me off to no end.
I actually was insane enough to sit through all of the stupid emo acid trip bullshit, and what did I get? The most anti-climatic ending I've EVER seen.
It's just Shinji bitching to himself as usual, then he has an epiphany: "I HATE MYSELF!" and all of the characters surround him saying "CONGRADULATIONS!" and it ends there.
I mean seriously? What the fuck? THIS is supposed to be an AWESOME ENDING for the so-called THE BEST ANIME EVER MADE?
FUCK YOU to the writers of NGE, and FUCK YOU to everyone who disagrees with me.
This ending is fucking horrid, and that's not opinion. IT'S A GOD DAMN FACT!

That fucker is smiling at you because he knows he just trolled you hardcore.
So that's my list for the worst anime endings I've ever seen.
What are the worst anime endings you've seen? Respond in the comments! (No, you do not have to describe the endings, just a list is fine)

How about the endings to every single story arc in To Aru Majutsu no Index II?
You know what I'm referring to, Billy.

Well, it may be extremely repetitive and dull, but there's at least some satisfaction in seeing the villain getting a good punch to the face.
That's true, but it's just kinda disappointing to have a story arc start off interesting, and then end with the villain getting defeated in the same freakin' way as all the others.
Then again, given Touma's ability, I guess it would make sense for him to punch them all, since it cancels out their powers on touch.
